Most disappointing experience in education I have ever experienced. More than 90 days after being accepted and completing orientation I am still waiting to begin classes and have my financial aid released. Save yourself the headache and go to a real university. The degree on the wall will be worth much more. UPDATE: After 3 months of promises and jumping through hoops WGU dismissed me from my program. Ironically, with 5 Master's degrees under my belt, all from Tier-Level universities, I find WGU an absolute disgrace and waste of time. Do not bother with them. There are much better options available.

Mostly I loved and recommend WGU. Getting an online degree is not easier, it is more time efficient. The staff were wonderful and very helpful.
I struggled with the math needed for my program. This needs to be addressed within the school. A huge amount of other fellow students complaining on social media. It is outdated.

I recently graduated from WGU with a Bachelor's in Accounting. I really love WGU. My mentor was wonderful and kept me motivated and feeling like I was doing well. The instructors were always right there to help when needed. There are extra helps like the writing center and math help. I really appreciate the way this school values it's faculty and students. Very impressive.

WGU offers a go at your pace program, that is challenging and requires a determined mind.

If you feel you have mastered a subject you are given the option to complete a class quickly. No waiting for the end of a semester to finish a class.

There is nothing more rewarding then being able to accelerate through a class and move on to the next class at your pace on your time.

The mentor program is also a huge reason to choose WGU. Your mentor is a guide, coach, therapist and friend that has your best interest at heart and is there to give you the push you need to keep going!

My program mentor was awesome! She set up my program in a logical way, and she was available when I needed her.

I felt like I received the best of both worlds with my WGU experience. The coursework was thorough and interesting, without having to spend multiple years at a brick & mortar school waiting for the next semester to begin/end in order to complete your degree. WGU's self-paced/competency format was a game changer for me.

My advisor, Wendy, made it a great experience. She was so helpful and gave me a weekly personal connection while I was got my master's degree online. I loved how I could work at my own pace and how affordable WGU was.

The universty made perfect platform to enhance our growth in graduation courses . It's great honour to complete courses in Western Governors University.I suggest my upcoming juniors to grab oppurtunities here for good achievements in all over curriculum activities .

WGU has made going back to school convenient for the working adult. I managed to graduate with my Bachelors of Science in Business Administration - Management with a few transfer credits within two calendar years. This would have taken me upwards of four years to complete through a traditional college system. I'm so grateful that WGU exists!

It says "competency base" but that kind of boils down to 90% or higher. If you fail a test, it's not the end of the course. They make sure you actually get to learn and progress, by tutoring you to try again. You will get a chance to actually learn everything for future jobs. You have to be actively tying to fail to not pass the courses.

Admissions and Transcript team would not even reply to my email. I am veteran that was seeking a BS of IT WGU using VR&E; but I am pursuing my associates else where first. I needed to see which courses would transfer credits to complete my plan with the VA, but after asking them to review my associates degree plan from this other school, which I conveniently gave them a word doc with the entire course names, codes, and full descriptions of, they refused to acknowledge me. Its been over a week, since the first request, and now this week they haven't even responded to my follow up over 3 days ago now. Also was told by admissions that I would be called and followed up with 2 days ago and never was to confirm receipt of my course evaluations to determine transferability.

If this is how they ghost and treat their future students I would assume they treat their current students even worse. Stay away.

Working on this degree was very compatible with my busy work and family schedule because it is self paced and the assignment deadlines were flexible.

The constant contact is irritating. This is an online school. No one is going to make it part of their identity, it's not a central part of my life, I'd like to just get classes done and not be bothered every freaking day with emails about joining women in tech and letters from scammy "honor" organizations.

I love WGU because this school allowed me to get my teaching degree and license at my own pace! The course teachers and mentors were there cheering me on in the process!

WGU literally makes everything easy. From applying to coursework to course completion - everything is set up to make it easy to get things done so you can focus on learning. My program and class mentors were all engaged and followed up with me to make certain I was progressing through each class and understood the material. The flexibility of the course of study allowed me to finish in 18 months when other programs I looked at were going to take 24 months or longer.
