WGU was okay for me overall. It helped me get the degree done and check that box for jobs, which is what I needed. But I wouldn’t say the degree by itself impressed anyone or suddenly opened a bunch of doors. From people I know, the outcomes are mixed—some moved up, some didn’t. You still really need experience and to network. My biggest complaint is that after finishing, there wasn’t much follow-up or support. It kind of felt like once I was done, that was it. Not a bad option, just definitely not magic.

I chose WGU because I didn’t feel right spending years waiting around when I knew I was ready to move forward. Compared to my old school, the flexibility made a huge difference, and it felt like a more fair way to earn a degree.

I was able to move fast through classes where I already knew the material, then slow down a bit when work got hectic. I ended up graduating earlier than I thought I would, and that felt really good, like my time and effort were actually being respected.
